The folks who organize Monthly Music Hackathon (a fantastic series of music tech hacking events hosted at Spotify HQ in NYC) asked me if I’d come talk at this installment, a day focused on the creation of new musical instruments.  They want me to tell all about my magical pizza pans set up and I’m happy to oblige! This piezo-mic-enabled MIDI-trigger set up of mine is my instrument of choice these days for my performance career, and I’m constantly thinking of how to tweak it to be more robust and more closely invite the kinds of gestures I want my audiences to see. Instrument building is a tricky thing for me, full of emotion and digital heartbreak, and I can’t wait to brainstorm my next move with the smart folks at this event. Attendance is free (I think especially with RSVP), so come hang out with a bunch of cool folks for a day of talks, workshops, and concerts! (And Spotify HQ is cool, by the way – fun furniture and terrific snacks abound!)
