Thanks to an invite by composer and NYU professor Tae Hong Park (who was a fellow Princeton tiger, sharing with me the fun and privilege of having the inimitable Paul Lansky as his advisor), I popped by the Steinhardt school at NYU to give a composers colloquium talk.  It was a fun bunch of composers – some making film music, some in musical theater, and some zany new music folks like me.  I ended up talking a lot about my relationship with text and narrative, and how I use speech as both semantic content and sonic texture (those issues have been my composerly obsession of the last 6 or 7 years).
